Add inspiration to your days…all year long. (scroll down to sign up!)
There is no doubt, Hawaii is a special place. I know many of you have visited the islands, and have told me you immediately felt a connection. Some of you say you feel more at home in Hawaii than anywhere else, or that a visit to the islands changed you in some way…maybe profoundly. Some of you live here, and — like me, you’re still discovering this magical place. Others of you, from all over the world, tell me you’ve never been to Hawaii but you are dreaming of the day you get to visit. (and I hope you do!!)
Now, to be fair, I have to remind people that living in Hawaii is not exactly a 24/7 vacation. We have real work and real laundry, and real taxes, and our kids can act (real) badly and that wonderful sunshine we enjoy eventually makes our skin wrinkle…Also, many of you have heard me whine mention that here in Hawaii we miss out on a few of my favorite things. (Namely: FALL, road trips, and Trader Joes.) Indeed, there are pros and cons to every place you could live, but there is no denying that Hawaii’s got some solid pros no matter how you look at it.
I have lived on Oahu for nearly 18 years, and recently I started thinking it might be time to share some of the gifts from life in Hawaii with you. No, I cannot send the warm ocean water, the heavenly scent of plumeria, or an ice cold coconut, but what I can give you is nearly as awesome: Some of the unique ways this place has blessed me, shaped me, and inspired me over the years.
So I have put together a list of 12 Island Inspirations that I cannot wait to share with you — once a month for a full year!
And the best part is: All of these can add health, happiness, and Aloha to your life, no matter where you are! In other words, you don’t have to move to Hawaii to enjoy them…(I mean, you can if you want, but it’s not required!)
These monthly notes will be full of fun features! I’ll share some interesting facts, cultural traditions, and special links. You might find a recipe or a free download to print and save. Discount codes or travel deals? Who knows!? 🙂 But most importantly, each note will offer some Island inspiration which can help you embrace YOUR life in a new and beautiful way wherever you are!
Guaranteed you do NOT want to miss this!
But…take note:
YOU WON’T FIND ANY OF THIS ON MY BLOG!
What?!

The smell of Hawaii is absolutely incredible. There’s nothing like it. ❤️

I agree! I’ve said before that if I ever moved away I might do ok, but if i ever got a whiff of a plumeria I might fall apart! 🙂 Something about our sense of smell…Wish I could add scents to my blog!

You know this made my day! I love 11 kajillion things about Hawaii! But, my absolute favorite is the multicultural mix. I find the mix of people in Hawaii beautiful and lovely. As a mom of hapa boys I truly appreciate that being standard fair rather than a need to explain why my kiddos look nothing like me. ( They actually do, if people look longer than a half second!)

Oh I love this!! And I totally agree…the multicultural mix is really special. When my boys were young they thought their dad was Hawaiian (I guess because he gets really dark tan.) It’s all just been such a non-issue for my boys which I think is really cool. Much aloha to you Shannon!

Oh my goodness, I’m so excited to receive Island Inspirations! And your photo looks like it was taken from our hotel room on our family’s 2017 Hawaiian vacation (but it wasn’t! Haha!). Our vacation to Hawaii was magical and it was by far the biggest, and most exciting, excursion we’ve made! You are so blessed to live in Hawaii! There is a special “vibe” in the air there. Aloha!

Thank you Wendy! I love hearing from you! I hope you get to do that trip again one day…and I’ll get to see you! 🙂 Much love and hope you enjoy the soon-coming inspirations! xo
